The evening shift is made up solely of about 3 people flirting with Nurse, H&P coming on pissed trying to argue politics, and occasionally me and bruuuno talking bollocks.

Zero wisdom to add.

I certainly agree with you to a degree but the irony of what your saying is once you have the kids tho thats when it becomes so scary to change without the financial safety net.

If i didnt have kids I would do it in a flash but as you know once you have them you feel an overwhelming sense to protect and look after them and it makes change from your comfy income to something you really want to do which has risk seem almost selfish.

Dunno sometimes just feels like my duty to stay in my job no matter what cos I know they will be okay as long as im here

Re: Career Change Stories
It's a very good idea to save up a safety net, but at the same time, it's a bit like deciding to have a child.

Many wait and wait until they feel the time is right, and they have financial security etc etc. Trouble is, many will wait and wait and never feel they have enough saved or are safe enough. Sometimes you just have to leap and then make it all right as you go along.

That is what I did with parenthood in the end, and it has worked out fine. Once the leap was made, you simply get on with life amd make it work.

Try to prepare, but bear in mind that there may come a time where you've just got to say "Fuck it!" and leap into the abyss.

Yeeeeeeeehaaaaaaa!

There might not be a life after death, so think fast.

Apply for jobs.

Get one.

Give it two years.

If you've not advanced, and you can honestly say you were trying, pack it in and try something else.

You can do or be whatever you like in this life.

People put limitations on themselves and others but that is all complete and utter nonsense

I wish you the very best of luck in your new career.

Have started building my photography business in the hope I will be able to leave the City in a few years and do it full time.

Such a saturated market it's standing out.

Sometimes it's worth taking a pay cut for a better lifestyle.

Rusta. There's abook on kindle called think and be rich. Its about 50p. It has many words of wisdom that would help you get through the difgicult times. It also has lots of examples and anecdotes. It was written 70 years ago so is slightly difgicult at times but is worth reading and highlighting everything that inspires you. I cant recommend it highly enough.
